Bullets to Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with PINK OUT
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Sponsored runs and walks, college athletics teams and even the NFL teams have rallied to support this very important cause over the past few weeks.
This Saturday, October 24, the Oregon Silver Bullets Gold softball team will do its part by sponsoring a PINK OUT for Breast Cancer Awareness. The team, coaches and fans will be wearing special Pink Oregon Silver Bullet’s T shirts. The player’s version will feature their number and be their game jersey for this special day.
The team will be participating in a 3-day tournament in Sunnyvale, California, which will feature some 68 elite softball teams. The entire tournament is played at one 10 field complex, so the 1000+ participants, along with their parents, friends, fans and over 200 college coaches expected to be in attendance will all be in one location. Therefore, we know our message of awareness and support will have a great audience. We have chosen Saturday, as it is the day we play 3 of our 7 tournament games. Therefore we will be in the complex most of the day.
We hope this assists, even if in just a small way, the intent of this month to bring awareness to this important cause. In addition, it will bring awareness to these 15-18 year old young women who deserve the development of a cure for this disease during their lifetimes.
